Q: What is included with the basic golf package?
A: Green fees, carts (where available), 1-2 check in tables, cart signs, rules sheets, scorecards, scoreboard/scoring and one courtesy cart for your tournament staff.
Q: What is the difference between a small group vs. tournament booking?
A: A small group is considered 8-20 players and can be booked directly through the golf course as a prepaid event. Small groups do not have to fill out a tournament request form. A tournament is any group of 21 or more players and must go through the permitting process and fill out a request form to start that process.
Q: Do I have to pay a deposit and what is that cost?
A: Yes, a deposit is required to book your date. The deposit is 10% of your total for the event or $500 whichever is less. This deposit will be applied to your final tournament balance.
Q: What’s the difference between a Shotgun and a Tee time start?
A: A shotgun start is when everyone in your tournament starts playing at the same time on different holes. A tee time start is when you have consecutive tee times at 10-minute intervals starting one after the other.
Q: Is there a price difference between shot gun and tee time starts?
A: Yes. Shotguns cost more because we have to block off tee times in front and back of the group in order to start foursomes on different holes and allow them to play through number one. If you do not have a full field (100+), we will have public play out on the course before and after your group. The extra shotgun fee covers the cost of those extra tee times we cannot book with the general public.
Q: What is the minimum player number required for a shotgun?
A: Because it takes up extra tee times, we do require the group to be a minimum size of 60 players for a shotgun start to maximize out tee times for the general public.
Q: Why is a minimum number of players required for a shotgun?
A: As a public facility, the minimum player numbers allows us to maximize our tee times for the general public.
Q: Formats – scramble vs best ball
A: Scrambles are when all four players tee off and then you go to the best shot and everyone hits from that ball position. This is done all the way through putting, then 1 score is recorded on the scorecard. A best ball is when each player plays their own ball through the round and you take the best score on each hole of the twosome or foursome. Scrambles are the most popular and help with pace of play.
Q: Are range balls available?
A: Range balls are available at an additional fee where we have driving ranges that are open and can be added into your permit.
Q: Are Gift Certificates (Pro Shop Credit) available?
A: Gift certificates or pro shop credit is available at an additional fee and can be included in your tournament permit. We suggest $10/player but you have the flexibility to make it any amount that fits your budget. This credit can be pooled and then divided out how you see fit into gift cards for tee prizes.
Q: Are the pro shop credit and range ball items required?
A: No these are optional upgrades.
Q: How does Food &Beverage work?
A: Our restaurants are leased out and therefore run and managed by separate entities. When you require food and beverage for your tournament, you will need to contact the restaurant directly to order and secure your food. We can provide you with the contact for Food and Beverage services where you are booking. NO OUTSIDE FOOD AND BEVERAGES ARE ALLOWED at locations that have a restaurant!!
Q: Can I add more players later?
A: We recommend that when you book, you book for the highest number of players you think you are going to have. You then have a 20% variance to go down in numbers from the number on the permit up to 10 days prior. For example, if you book for 100 players, you can go down to 80 players when you pay your balance. It’s harder to go up in numbers because we block tee times for the number on the permit. The rest remain open for the public to book. Therefore, those tee times around your group might already be booked so it’s easier to take tee times away than to add them, as we can’t guarantee those tee times will be available.
Q: Where’s the best place to book a 9-hole tournament?
A: We have three 9-hole courses in Denver. Harvard Gulch is a short fun par three, Kennedy has a par three course with a variety of shorter and longer holes and they also have a regulation 9-hole course–riding carts available at Kennedy location as well. It is very difficult to book afternoon 9-hole events on our other 18-hole courses unless you book it in the first one and a half hours in the morning. The afternoons are typically already booked with leagues.
